Favorite Things: Look What’s on PGiTV

My daughter and I were watching her favorite television program yesterday. It is a show called Total Drama Island, a cartoon version of the television show, Survivor, complete with wacky characters, crazy elimination challenges and big prizes. Despite its silliness, the show is a great example of how the medium of television can be used to reinvent ideas to give them new purpose and function.

With this perspective, I want to write about my new favorite thing…PGiTV. Premiere Global has successfully reinvented the idea of tutorials, media kits, customer stories and product demos, and transformed them into an easy and accessible video format. At PGiTV you can take a quick tutorial, learn about our company and solutions, and examine the different ways our customers use our products to solve their most pressing business issues. Now you can learn about Premiere Global and our solutions in a way that’s convenient and easy. Who among us doesn’t prefer to see a new concept in action, rather than to simply read about it? What’s best is that we’re adding new content all the time so there’s always something new to watch on PGiTV.

You can also access our videos on You Tube. We have our own channel, allowing you to access our videos on any device anywhere on the web. Check us out there and subscribe to receive the latest in our video offerings.

My favorite video tells the story of an international sailing competition using our conferencing services to assist the competitors with their communication needs. It truly highlights the global aspect of our business and makes me appreciate the diverse ways in which our products can be applied. Share your favorite video with me at jill.sciulli@pgi.com.

Online Meetings: Increase Retention by Combining Voice with Visuals

Studies show that audiences retain only 10% of what they hear and 20% of what they see. Sadly, this fact applies to colleagues in your business meetings, too.

Common distractions during business meetings, like an overflowing email inbox begging for attention, make it tough to get your message across, much less retained.

But when these same audiences – including your colleagues – are presented with a communication that combines voice and visual elements – like a web meeting – retention soars to 65%! Now that’s progress.
