This is from the archives folks, but for Blackberry users, it is an absolute MEETING MUST. At least a quarter of PGi’s conference calling traffic comes from mobile phones so the reason stands that ALL meeting invites should be mobile friendly. Here is quick how to format meeting requests when sending calendar invites for Blackberry users:
Best practice is to place the number, properly formatted in the ‘Body’ of the invite. Not the ‘Location’ tab (you can’t click on the location tab with most phones.
Proper formatting is KEY: “(toll or toll free number)x(participant passcode)#” The numbers should have NO spaces or dashes between them. The ‘x’ is critical as is the hash mark ‘#’ at the end. For example, if my toll free number is 123-456-7891 and my participant passcode is 1111111, I’d format it like this: 1234567891×1111111#
Using this format in your invites lets participants simply click the number from a mobile device and immediately access your conference call, without having to type in a passcodes.
PGi also has super simple apps for iPhone and Blackberry meeting hosts that are designed for instant access. Check out all the details online.
