iMeet Debuts at the Minnesota Twins No-Hitter

Minnesota Twins debut iMeet

iMeet is now part of baseball history.

Now starting directly behind home plate for six games at the U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago is our very own all-star iMeet. Approximately 160,000 fans and over seven million homes saw our banner iMeet ad over six games beginning May 3rd.

As Minnesota Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano threw the first no-hitter of 2011 against the Chicago White Sox, the iMeet ad ran live and on the highlight reels of ESPN, MLB Tonight, streaming web video, and local news all across the country.

Would you like to catch the excitement of the no-hitter? Just click the link below and track to minute four (eighth inning) in the video to see our iMeet ad in action:

Please Collaborate and Bring Football Back

Growing up, I loved sitting in front of the TV and watch the New York area professional baseball teams duke it out with their conference foes.  I pulled out my baseball cards and watched my favorite players face off.  I was too young and naive to know that this wasn’t just a game, but a business.

Over time my major interest with baseball declined and my passion for basketball began, probably because I played it more than anything else and played on my high school team.  That relationship continues to this day, but the flames of passion have calmed some.  This reduction of interest is in large part due to my new love, passion, and true obsession…. FOOTBALL!!!!

I am a rabid fan; most specifically of the Atlanta Falcons.  GO FALCONS!

Virtual versus Face-to-Face Meetings

web conferencingAs a regular telecommuter, I sometimes miss the corporate culture and chemistry of my colleagues on the days I work from home, despite the many obvious benefits derived from telecommuting. As such, the days I do come into the office are enriched because I look forward to the in-person meetings and brainstorming sessions—those face-to-face meetings that seem more powerful because I am in there the room.

However, how many meetings do we attend that actually require us to be physically present? Knowing that both in-person and online meetings are here to stay, can we as telecommuters schedule our work week to maintain the crucial balance between two? As meeting experts, PGi constantly strives to understand how we incorporate various media and methods into our everyday business life to make our meetings successful. By accessing available meeting tools, we can create the optimal meeting environment and encourage collaboration, engagement and connection in both virtual and face-to-face settings.

Tips for productive and positive meetings

As “meetings experts,” it’s our business at PGi to understand meetings – and to understand what makes the difference between a bad meeting and a good one. Here are a few things to remember for productive and positive meetings:

  • collaboration,
  • engagement, and
  • connection.

By maintaining each, you will combat common meeting frustrations and obstacles.

Collaboration is essential.  Whether you’re meeting in-person or virtually, it’s important to encourage all meeting attendees to actively participate.  This is especially true for standing meetings like status meetings, where people are often half tuned in.  Dead weight in meetings can bring the entire group down. If people don’t contribute, chances are they don’t need to be in the meeting in the first place.
