Your Virtual Passport: Meet Face-to-Face Across the World

I traveled the world this week and never even left my desk. I met face-to-face with colleagues in Australia and Ireland right from my desktop here in the United States. We chatted about the weather, brainstormed upcoming events and strategic corporate initiatives. And it was (dare I say it?) fun. Global communications will never be the same — and that’s a very good thing — thanks to GlobalMeet and iMeet.

PGi Associates across the world intermingle weekly (if not daily) to manage global customers, customer care, campaign planning and corporate giving. And with the incredible help of our newest innovations, web conferencing tool GlobalMeet and iMeet virtual meeting rooms, these interactions aren’t the same old boring, often confusing, conference calls.

Meet Kim McIndoe – PGi’s Marketing Operations Specialist in Asia Pacific. In email, Kim is punctual and responsive. She gets her job done, and the results are good. In GlobalMeet, Kim is a vibrant, hilarious Australian with incredible ideas to encourage global collaboration and philanthropy. By meeting face-to-face, we found ourselves brainstorming to create an exciting new project. This would never happen via email.

Meet Ray Coppinger – PGi’s Online Marketing Manager for EMEA and Canada. In email, Ray is professional, incredibly polite and shares info when we need it stateside. In iMeet, Ray is witty, intelligent and has a fantastic Irish accent. After every iMeet session, I find myself smiling for the next three hours because Ray’s enthusiasm is written all over his face. This would never happen in an audio call.

If you’ve ever tried online dating, you understand the power of meeting someone in person. For the past 25 years, global workers have settled for email, text and impersonal (and often expensive) conference calls. And with the strain on corporate travel over the past three years, you’re lucky to meet a colleague in the same region. But now you don’t have to settle for impersonal meetings. Today, you can have better meetings across the world, virtually.

The Kim’s and Ray’s of your company are out there — in Australia, Ireland, Brazil, India, South Africa. Why settle for instant messaging or audio calls when you can have GlobalMeet collaboration? And why miss out on the next big idea or project when you have iMeet brainstorming?

Grab your virtual passport and travel the world.

How many stamps are on your virtual passport? Can you beat my six stamps? How does your company build relationships with clients and colleagues across the world?
