iMeet Translates to German: PGi Announces Alliance with Deutsche Telekom

PGi customers, partners, shareholders and other stakeholders,

I am thrilled to announce a new strategic alliance with Deutsche Telekom, Germany’s premiere integrated telecommunications company. This multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement establishes Deutsche Telekom as the exclusive reseller of PGi’s innovative new video conferencing solution, iMeet, in Germany.

Today, PGi and Deutsche Telekom announced this exciting new alliance at CeBIT, the digital industry’s largest global event. Deutsche Telekom plans to initially offer iMeet to Germany’s small business community this summer and will expand to the German enterprise and consumer markets later this year. iMeet will also be hosted locally in Deutsche Telekom’s German data centers and soon offered to subscribers in the Business Marketplace in the Deutsche Telekom Cloud Center.

The PGi-Deutsche Telekom alliance further validates that iMeet is an important collaboration solution and that communications providers are looking for intuitive, highly usable online meetings solutions that they can deliver reliably to their customers.

With iMeet, we created an entirely new way to meet — a simple, personal and mobile solution that brings creativity and the human element back into every meeting. iMeet gives users their own personal meeting room online that unites video conferencing and audio conferencing with social networking and file sharing — the first robust, integrated solution of its kind.  Now, leveraging Deutsche Telekom’s global reach and deep expertise in the telecommunications market, I am excited to help Germans everywhere meet in new, refreshingly human ways — regardless of device, location or time zones.

This strategic alliance fills a void in the German marketplace for an online meeting solution that connects work colleagues, friends and family in a simple, personal and mobile way. As Wainhouse Research analyst Marc Beattie said in today’s press release, “There are currently many services that look the same, and most have become extraordinarily complicated to use — iMeet is different. It is unique in its approach, easy to access, intuitive, fun and highly productive way to bring teams of people together.”

PGi Thanks You for 20 Great Years

This year, PGi is excited to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.  We could not have done it without the support and dedication of our customers and associates worldwide who made reaching this incredible milestone possible.

We are light years away from our beginnings as a company that sold long-distance calling cards to connect U.S. military members with their families. Since then, we have grown from a small organization doing business in the southeastern United States to a global industry leader with offices in 25 countries, nearly half-a-billion dollars in revenue and an incredible customer base that spans nearly every industry and includes many of the world’s leading companies.

When it comes down to it, we believe that meetings matter. They are the lifeblood of modern business. We believe that people matter, too. For the past 20 years, PGi has transformed collaboration by helping people connect in more human, meaningful ways while helping businesses thrive. From the largest global enterprise to the smallest home office entrepreneur, we feel honored to serve you.

On behalf of the entire PGi team, thank you for putting your continued trust in us. Because of your support, today PGi helps companies forge global connections while we make a charitable difference in our local communities.

Please join us as we celebrate this milestone and know that as we continue to innovate and grow, we will never lose sight of our commitment to you—our valued customer. From the entire PGi family:  thank you.

Introducing the Award-Winning iMeet

The people have spoken. And we can hear soul-sucking meeting haters rejoicing around the world.

Stevie Award iconThanks to an overwhelming groundswell of support from the iMeet user community, earlier this week, PGi was awarded a People’s Choice Stevie Award for its latest innovation, iMeet, at the 2011 American Business Awards (ABA) reception. iMeet took home the trophy in the Favorite New Computer Service category and earned a finalist nod in the New Product or Service of the Year – Computer Services category.

We are thrilled and humbled by the number of iMeet users who took time out of their day to vote for us. With iMeet, PGi set out to reinvent video meetings by making them simple, social and available to everyone, everywhere. This award is further proof that we’ve hit a nerve.
